Welcome to [info]franken_stein, an icon/creative works journal for [info]sleepall_day!

PLEASE READ THE RULES! Everything you need to know such as rules and resources are all below, here in the userinfo. And all the posts can be found in the TAGS.

This is a place for me to post icons, but also other creative works and resources, and generally anything I deem worthy. Wallpapers, fanmixes, screencaps, and other random crap here and there.

Anyway... so what is this journal all about... Don't worry, this isn't a shark-themed icon journal. Just a shark-themed layout. The name? It's just a name I like and it allows me to defend my unskillfully made icons by saying, "They're not ugly, just misunderstood." I won't be adding you back if you friend this journal, but that's just because everything here is public. You should definitely friend this journal, though. And here's why:

THIS JOURNAL WILL:

  1. Make you instantly cooler and enhance your performance in bed. Impress your lover!
  2. Provide great quality icons of all kinds of cool stuff - right in the comfort of your own friends list
  3. Bring you the occasional desktop wallpaper, brushes, screencaps, and tutorials
 THIS JOURNAL WILL NOT:

  1. Like you if you do not follow the rules listed on the user info page (which is here, below)
  2. Print out a receipt of any icon you take (keep checking that disk drive, though)
  3. Make toast (unfortunately)
None of these rules are too mind-bogglingly different from most other icon journals.
  1. I love comments, and I love to know what you think. So, let me know which icons you're taking so I know where they go and because I appreciate the feedback. I'd also like to know which icons are the most popular. I definitely read them all, but please understand that I can't reply to each one (though sometimes I try).
  2. Generally I don't take requests, but you can request a variation of a posted icon or ask for the base since I usually keep those. And I guess you can suggest things too, especially things that are related to stuff I've already iconned.
  3. Credit [info]sleepall_day OR preferably [info]franken_stein in keywords. Giving credit to an icon maker is extremely important and also protocol. Don't archive them anywhere, don't say you made them, don't alter them in any way, and if you're one of those weird people who steal a bunch of icons and then post them in Xanga or wherever for other people to steal, just... just go away or stop. Please do credit all icons made by not only by me, but anyone else you take from. And here is how:
    • Log in, and go to Manage - User pictures.
    • Upload the icon.
    • In the space where you name the icon, you can enter anything you want to identify the icon, and then credit me as the maker. You can do something like name of icon - by franken_stein or name of icon (by franken_stein). Either that, or this is what I like to do: you can put the LJ code for a user in the comment box by doing this: <lj user="franken_stein">

  4. Please do not hotlink any of the graphics here.
  5. Absolutely NO editing of icons posted here.
  6. Wallpapers are only for personal desktop use.


Okay then... just a few more things to note:
  • Resources: All resources that are my own or that I have gotten from others can be found in the memories (see below).
  • Nominating: I haven't really had that happen much, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. You don't have to ask permission, but please let me know if you do!
  • Contact: If you need to contact me for any reason at all please don't hesitate to leave me a comment in this journal and I will do my best to reply, or you could email me at sleepall_day @ livejournal.com. If you still have complaints please register them on a square piece of paper and send them to [info]sleepall_day, which will then be made into various animal origami figures for your amusement and then promptly incinerated.
